About the work

Are your pieces handmade?

Yes. Everything is handwoven, hand made and finished, either in our Cape Town studio or in collaboration with local artisans and weaving partners such as Barrydale Hand Weavers.

Why are no two pieces identical?

Our patterns respond directly to the process, such as weaving, of making themselves. Small variations arise naturally in handwork, and we consider these part of the value of the piece rather than a flaw.

What materials do you use?

Locally sourced natural cotton and mohair, alongside vintage and remnant textiles. Everything is 100% natural fibre, and has been since the studio began.

Do you make one-of-a-kind pieces?

Yes. Some pieces are one of a kind, others are produced in small limited editions. Where a piece is unique, it is noted on the product page. We currently only have capacity to make custom designs for larger runs, please get in touch directly should you have such an enquiry.

Buying

Can I see the pieces in person before buying?

Yes, and we'd encourage it if you're unsure. Our Cape Town studio is open by appointment, and you can also visit one of our stockists to see and feel the work. You can find our stockists in the menu at the bottom of this page. Alternatively, get in touch and we'll point you to whoever is closest to you.

Do you take commissions or custom orders?

Yes. However, due to our studio capacity, we have specific criteria for custom designs. Get in touch with an idea of what you're looking for, and we'll talk it through. Please note custom and commissioned pieces require upfront deposits and are not eligible for return,

Do you work with interior designers?

We do, and it's some of our favourite work. We have sample packs of our standard cloth weights and colour options available. Email us if you'd like these sent to you.

Do you have a physical shop?

Not a walk-in shop, but we have a selection of products available in our studio in Woodstock, which is available by appointment, and our work is carried by selected stockists.

Orders and care

How long until my order ships?

Please allow 48 hours processing on weekdays. From there, delivery is usually around 3 working days to major South African metros, 5 to 10 working days to outlying areas.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, via TUNL. Rates are calculated according to specific package and destination details. Please get in touch for a quote. Please note customs and import duties are the responsibility of the customer.

How do I care for my piece?

Care instructions are listed on each product page, as they vary by material. As a general rule, natural fibres last longest with gentle, infrequent washing.

Can I return something?

We review returns case by case. Please get in touch within 7 days of receiving your order, and see our Shipping & Returns policies for full details.
