With a degree in Fine Art and a background in set design and art direction, I founded the studio in 2018 after an extended research trip through India.

It began as a platform to share what I found there: the cloth, the makers, and a love of the stories held in both.

Entranced by a medium so rooted in the body, the earth and culture, I soon took up hand weaving myself, both as a material and philosophical practice. The studio developed to hold this practice, grounded in crafting textiles with care and centring local, natural materials and traditional, artisanal techniques. It is guided throughout by an obsessive love of cloth, the joy of making, and a belief in the value of living with things made with intention.

Inspired by the rich layering of historical textile forms, the ancient beauty of natural materials and the expansive, deep-time landscapes of Southern Africa, I aim to draw out essential elements and create timeless pieces, layered with attention, time and care.

In the Atelier, making is treated as a ritual: a physical and philosophical practice that turns raw and remnant material into something that both holds and transforms experience. This sense of ritual, of everyday objects and spaces made sacred through care and attention, runs through everything I make.

I believe in care before all else. From the selection of materials to the artisans I partner with, wellbeing always comes first. Each design, form and artwork is considered for how it will be lived with, and for the energy it will carry.

My intention is simple: to create beautiful pieces, with care, which are felt as much as they are seen, and which enrich our environments, and our experiences of them, with texture, story and resonance.
